Leatherman Blast
The Leatherman Blast is a favorite choice among multi-tool fans for many reasons.
The Leatherman Blast is lighter than other comparable models making it much easier to carry in your pocket or purse.
One of the most popular features that differentiates the Blast from others is that all of the tools lock securely in place once opened and also each tool opens smoothly without “bunching.”
One of unique features of the Leatherman Blast is the ergonomically designed Zytel (rubbery) handle that gives you a comfortable grip when using this tool.
Zytel is well known for it’s high strength, abrasion and impact resistant properties. It is also specially formulated for resistance to common chemicals such as Transmission fluids and motor oils.
The knife blade of the Blast is also one of the longest in any multi-tool.
The Leatherman Blast comes with a 25 year warranty which tells you how confident the Leatherman Group is in their product.
The Leatherman Blast comes with either a Stainless Steel body or a optional Black Oxide version is available.
Timothy Leatherman, a mechanical engineer, had a vision of creating a pocket knife that had all the essential tools for any handyman contained in a sturdy compact form. In 1980 he received his first patent on his Leatherman Tool and the world of multi-tools was born.
The Leatherman and it’s full product line, (24 different tools to meet anybody’s needs), is made in the USA in Oregon State.

Here is what others say about the Leatherman Blast:
The Leatherman Blast is my favorite tool for a campsite, not counting the frying pan. I use it for fishing, cooking, cutting, sawing and prying . The blade holds an edge and is easy to sharpen when needed. The pliers are very strong and hold up to twisting wires and whatever else I grab a hold of. The nylon holster dries quickly when wet. I must say I keep the tool clean and occasionally oil it up. With the stainless steel body I never have to worry about rusting.
The Leatherman Blast is one of my items I carry everyday. It has everything you need on a day to day basis. It is a small and compact tool that doesn’t get in the way. If I lost it I would instantly replace it without a second thought. The moment I took the Blast out of the box, (it was a gift), I was impressed with the finish and the way it fit in my hand. If you want a fantastic all-in-one and don't want to spend as much as the Leatherman Super Tool or the Charge then the Leatherman Blast is a wonderful choice.
The main reason I bought the Leatherman Blast was so that I would have things like pliers, a file, glasses screwdriver etc among the tools in my backpack. I was looking for something that ensured all the tools would lock in place when fully opened. The plastic covering on the edges of the handles makes it easier to use the pliers, I like that feature.
